How To Reset HANWHA Security Camera Password

Greetings, security enthusiasts! As a third-party expert for Pipl Systems, we’ve delved into the intricacies of Hanwha’s cutting-edge Wisenet cameras. A recurring question surfaced within our community: “How does one reset the password on these IP cameras?” Today, we aim to comprehensively address this query, guiding you through the step-by-step process of resetting your Hanwha Wisenet camera password. Let’s embark on this journey together!

Important Note: It’s crucial to note that resetting the camera password involves a physical reset, resulting in the deletion of all settings. Ideally, passwords should be stored securely to avoid frequent resets. Now, let’s delve into the process of resetting your Hanwha Wisenet camera password.

1. Power Up Your Camera:

Ensure your camera is powered by being plugged into a power source. The camera needs to be operational for the password reset. In our case, it is a Dome Camera Hanwha SolidEDGE PNV-A6081R-E.

2. Locate the Reset Button:

Begin by removing the dome covering your camera. The reset button is typically situated on the module camera. For PTZs and bullet cameras, specific instructions can be found in the user manual.

3. Execute the Reset:

Press and hold the reset button for a minimum of 5 seconds. During this process, you’ll observe a change on the screen – being logged out from the web viewer.

4. Setting a New Password:

To proceed, download the Wisenet Device Manager (link in the description). The camera status will now reflect “Need Password.” Here, you have two options to set up a new password:

Option 1: Double-click on your camera (“Need PW”) in the web viewer, prompting you to enter a new password.

Option 2: Within the device manager, navigate to the top, click on “Credential,” then “Login Change Password.” Input your new password (ensuring it’s more than eight characters), click “Apply,” and voila – password reset success!

This process is designed to be secure and is intended for situations where a password reset is genuinely necessary. Wisenet Hanwha cameras are not pre-set with a password, only a default username (admin).
