In 1910, the Model T had not yet rolled off Henry Ford's assembly line, the Titanic was still under construction, and William Howard Taft was President of the United States. That same year, Charles Maffey Sr. — an Austrian immigrant who had arrived in America with his father in 1908 — opened Maffey's Lock & Safe Company in Elizabeth, New Jersey, becoming one of the oldest family-owned security businesses in North American history. One hundred and fifteen years later, Maffey's Security Group operates from the same community it has served for over a century, now led by President Edward Maffey and Vice President Andrew Maffey — the fourth generation of the family whose founder's vision of commitment to customers, dedication to employees, and expert understanding of the security craft has remained steadfast across a remarkable span of American history.
